Re: Thanks for a Great Product!

You're quite welcome
But as most things, I did it first for me. When I saw it could also be useful to others, I simply released it for anybody to try it :D

Re: Bug report: 8K WEBM files crash Media Preview COM Surrogate

Media Preview hasn't been optimised to process video files with such a big resolution. I suspect that it may be the case with some 4K video files as well. The issue here is that processing so many pixels at once takes a lot of time... So, some specific processing should be applied to shorten that. A...

Re: win 7 slow with media preview

Media Preview can make folder opening a bit slower at times but it shouldn't be perceptible.
However, Media Preview never interferes with your media players. If anything is wrong with video playback, please consult the editor/author of your media player for help.

Re: Flash Video (.flv) extension without icone

It may be because the video file is corrupted OR because Media Preview cannot extract a thumbnail even though the video file a valid for some reasons. The Flash Video format is quite a complicated one to manage, so Media Preview cannot show anything most likely because of the complexity of the Flash...

Re: java-related trouble getting Negatron started

You're welcome :)
Well, actually I'm sorry about that. I should have tested this deb package all the way down to execution... I'll sure do it starting with the next version. Anyway, enjoy retrogaming!

Re: java-related trouble getting Negatron started

It's really weird.
I suppose you installed the deb package. Can you try again with the cross-platform pack?

Re: java-related trouble getting Negatron started

This error is really weird. The only reason this can happen is because some resources are missing, inaccessible or the Negatron.jar is corrupted in some ways. Check that your account have read access right to all the files in the Negatron folder or simply force a chmod +777 temporarily for testing p...

Re: java-related trouble getting Negatron started

You have JavaFX 11 installed but Negatron is only compatible with Java and JavaFX 8. So, for now, you should install JavaFX 8 and edit Negatron.sh to force Negatron being launched with Java 8. Alternatively, you may change your default Java version to Java 8. I need to make Negatron compatible with ...

Re: Installation in Ubuntu 18.04

Thanks for explaining how these menu entries work. That will help me plenty :) As for your error, the hint is given by this line: Caused by: java.lang.NumberFormatException: For input string: "161-ea" This tells me that you have Java 6.1 early access installed on your machine and this is y...

Re: Installation in Ubuntu 18.04

The difficulty about menus isn't a joke. Linux has several different desktop environments like Gnome, KDE, Xfce, etc. And I don't know how to detect which environment is installed on a particular machine or if all those environments can fetch those menus from a common solution. At work, I mainly wor...
