FOR WINDOWS 10?

Here's the place to discuss anything about Media Preview in English.

I just installed Media Preview on my Windows 10 PC and set it selecting all file types (video, audio, and image formats).

Then I opened a folder with 112 videos (TV commercials) mostly in .mpg and .mpeg formats. Only two of them don't display thumbnails correctly in Explorer: one is .mpg, the other is .qt.

Since the latter is an Apple format I searched to find a .mov file in my PC. The result is it shows the thumbnail preview correctly.

I wonder why only one of dozens of .mpg files doesn't show the thumb right. As to the .qt file, is it because it's an old format? TIA.

Media Preview indeed doesn't handle qt file by default. But you can try to force this in the configuration tool, it may actually work:
1- go to the Video Formats tab
2- in the User Defined Extensions section, add "qt"
3- click on the Apply button

As for the non-working mpg file, it's probably because it's actually not a mpg file and the file has been given a wrong extension, leading Media Preview to interpret the file's content in an erroneous way. Without the actual file, I cannot go any further than with mere speculations though...
