Position Seek

A quick question about the position seek setting. Does reducing the percentage speed up the initial thumbnail generation?
I don't think that Media Preview spends much time on the initial position seeking. Normally, a valid video file is built in a way that keyframes are indexed and so seeking those keyframes is a very fast operation. Of course, Media Preview begins by seeking one of those keyframes. There may be an added latency on big video files that are spread on several hard disk sectors because of "large" magnetic head displacements, but most hard drives counter this with efficient integrated cache management.
Most of the time is spent on graphic processing tasks...
