Hey,
I am using Free Commander, but i have had a lot of Problems when using it with Media Preview.
As soon i select Thumbnail View in Total Commander , Microsoft Visual C++ reports a Run time error. It seems that both the programs are not compatible.

Please advice if something is to do about the problem

Thank you

Hi Hodgwarf,

Thanks for using Media Preview.
For your problem, I'll try to see what can be wrong. I've only tested Media Preview with Windows native Explorer and Total Commander actually. For Free Commander, I can presume that it doesn't really follow native Explorer behaviour and just crash waiting for something.

Can you give me more information about your configuration? It seems like you're using Windows XP Service Pack 3. Are you also using the latest version of Free Commander (Version 2009.02b)?

Hogdwarf,

Sorry for the late reply, I was quite busy lately...
I've installed a fresh version of WinXP SP3, then installed Media Preview and Free Commander, and I cannot reproduce the bug. Everything is working fine on my side. Be them mpg, mkv, flv, rm or ogv, files are just getting thumbnails without issue.
Maybe the problem is coming from some conflicts with other thumbnailers you're using? Or maybe, you get the issue with specific video files?
Can you tell me what other thumbnailer apps you have beside Media Preview?

The only other program i am using, that produces thumbs, is IrfanView .
But IrfanView does not attach itself to any of the explorer, i think.

I also have Open Office installed, but i don't know if it has his own thumb view.
Now i use mostly IrfanView and there is no problem, it is only is not as comfortable as having it in the Free Commander integrated.
Thanks for your kind attention.
