I can't remove file type overlay on flv files and the flv's won't take the film reel overlay.
All other files work fine.
I tried to change default player from vlc to winamp, it still displays either icon. I tried to clear cache, rebuild cache, check and apply settings, uncheck and apply, no change.
Is there a reason for this?

Oh good catch!
Media Preview changes those settings globally for every file format registered as being video in Windows.
Normally, this registration is set by default by Windows at system first installation, and then modified by your video player when it gets registered as the default player for the file format.

I'm in the process of finishing the next version, although I'm quite late on it. But I'll take the time to bugfix this before letting the next version out.
I'll probably add an option to force supported file formats to be registered as video formats if my explanation above is right.

From what I see from your screenshots, you're using VLC Media Player, right? Are you also using other video players? Can you also tell me if you're using WinVista or Win7? Those pieces of information will help me to nail down the issue.

I am using win 7 x64.
I tried to use winamp as default player on flv's but it just shows the winamp overlay.
So no matter what player I use, the overlay is there to stay.
And as I mentioned, the reel image won't wont on flv's either.

Ok, got it, I'll take a look later this week and give you a manual solution for the issue, this way you won't have to wait for the next release.

Can you try to double-click the attached reg file, then click yes on the prompt box asking if you really want to modify the registry, and try to fiddle again with the advanced settings of the config tool?
You shouldn't need to reboot your machine, and this should solve your issue.

If it indeed solves your issue, I'll add an option in the config tool to quickly solve this.

The overlay now responds and the reel images too.

I also edited the register key you gived, and then I set all the extentions that should to be considered as videos, and like magic, It Worked
